A boat crashes on San Francisco's famous Ferry Building

SAN FRANCISCO – Authorities announced that a ferry carrying 53 passengers had crashed on a dock at San Francisco's famous Ferry Building, causing two injuries on board.

A spokeswoman for Golden Gate Ferry told the Marin Independent Journal that the ferry from Larkspur had been damaged after the crash on Friday afternoon. According to Priya Clemens, the cause of the accident is currently under investigation and employees on board are being questioned.

One witness told the Associated Press that the ferry had hit one of the docks before heading to another.

Tiffany Dennis said the accident had triggered panic among a crowd of people having dinner and shopping at the waterfront attraction. The ship came to a stop when it struck a concrete walkway.

According to the newspaper, a passenger and a worker on board were slightly injured.
