After the last game of the match, Florida coach Dan Mullen urged his players to go directly to the fans. They all went to the Doak Campbell stadium, where UF fans were always very enthusiastic. The Chauncey Gardner-Johnson defensive back and tight end RJ Raymond jumped into the stands and led the team and the fans in a victorious song, followed by their tradition of singing "We're the boys of the old Florida.

It was the first time since 2012 that Florida was able to celebrate a victory over its American rival, Florida State. The No. 11 Gators dominated the 41-4 Saturday Seminoles.

"Nobody in our team has beaten Florida State before," quarterback Feleipe Franks said, "and we fought, and he definitely ranks at the top."

The Gators have amassed five touchdowns during the day and have racked up more than 500 yards for the third straight game.

Junior winger Lamical Perine had 129 of 282 rushing yards in Florida. His performance was highlighted by a touchdown in the second quarter, which saw him break through a hole on the left side and hit the field for a score of 74 yards.

And despite eight penalties imposed by the Florida state in the first two quarters of the game, the match was tight at the half with a 13-7 lead for Florida.

The Gators extended their lead with 10:53 to play in the third quarter, while another costly penalty for the Seminoles gave Florida a new game. Unsportsmanlike behavior on Soviet Union forward defender Stanford Samuels gave the Gators a first and a goal on the unit's five-yard line. That led to the second touchdown of the Gators, a three-yard pass from Franks to wide receiver Josh Hammond.

"All week we were not afraid of this game. We knew we were the best team, "said Gardner-Johnson. "We knew it was the most unruly team in the US so we would take advantage of every little opportunity we had. That's what we did. "

Defenders Jachai Polite and Jabari Zuniga were at the forefront of the Florida defense, which recorded its fourth five-sack game of the season.

Polite had a quarterback bag, Deondre Francois, who had been picked up by defender CeCe Jefferson. That led Trevon Grimes to a 22-yard touchdown touchdown at the next game, giving the Gators a 27-7 lead.

Grimes, a transfer from Ohio State, combined with Ole Miss, transferred Van Jefferson for 210 of the 254-yard pass to the Gators.

And despite two promising Seminole strikes, including one with a striker Cam Akers in the end zone, the Gators have held up too well. This was one of their most comprehensive games of the season, as they scored 28 points in the second half and maintained Florida State's position on 14th in the third.

This, coupled with the injuries he himself inflicted on the state of Florida, caused his collapse at home, leading to a 5-7 season.

"Disappointing loss. Season disappointing, "said FSU coach Willie Taggart." I think everyone in this locker room is hurting. "

The loss likely put an end to the chances of the Seminoles appearing in the cup for the 37th consecutive year, which was an NCAA record.

And Florida may be on the point of playing a big bowl game in Mullen's first season as head coach.

"I'm trying to go to a New Year's bowl, so it's fun," said Franks. "Our guys deserve it."
