As the Thanksgiving holiday weekend draws to a close, President Donald Trump took a moment off Sunday on his Twitter feed to thank with humility a person who, in his opinion, must be grateful: she -even.

Specifically, the president is thanked for the current low oil prices, although it is unclear what presidential policy seemed to him responsible for cheap fuel costs.

"So good that oil prices are falling (thank you, President T)," he tweeted. "Add that, which looks like a big tax cut, to our other good economic news." Inflation down (listen to you Fed)!

According to the International Energy Agency, oil reserves are already abundant and production from Russia, Saudi Arabia and the United States is at record levels, leading to a further decline in prices.

On top of that, Iran's oil production was higher than expected because the Trump government extended Iran's waivers on its oil exports, despite the reimposition of sanctions imposed in the country while the United States withdrew from an agreement on the Obama era regarding their nuclear program.

And experts say the United States is pressuring Saudi Arabia to maintain production. Last week, Trump announced that it did not intend to impose sanctions on Saudi Arabia for the murder of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi, despite US intelligence information linking his death to the prince heir Mohammed bin Salman.

Trump's decision not to take action against the Saudi monarchy could give him an edge in maintaining the country's oil production. On Wednesday, the president thanked Saudi Arabia for the low oil prices in a tweet That happened a day after the White House announced that it would not punish "the biggest oil producing country in the world" for the murder of only one journalist.
