Running back Melvin Gordon Chargers went to the locker room after suffering a knee injury in the third quarter of his game against the Cardinals.

Gordon was injured when he caught Austin Ekeler on the fly and a Cardinals defender tripped him. Gordon went down and immediately grabbed his right leg under the knee.

He had worn 10 times for 61 yards and two touchdowns when leaving the game.

6:10 p.m.

Ben Roethlisberger was 25 of 31 for a total of 221 yards in the first half in Denver, but the Steelers' only touchdown was scored by striker Chris Boswell when the time was up.

Boswell took the live shot and hit left tackle Alejandro Villanueva, wide receiver during his university years at the Army, with a tied pass. He is the first Steelers offensive lineman to have a touchdown pass since Ray Pinney made it against the Browns in 1983.

The Steelers had spoiled some scoring chances.

Justin Simmons blocked Boswell's 48-yard effort and Will Parks hit the ball at the same time as Xavier Grimble's goal was about to score on a 24-yard catch-and-run, the outgoing ball ground for a touchback.

Philip Rivers of the Chargers equaled Ryan Tannehill's record in the NFL by completing 25 consecutive passes in their game against the Cardinals before ending up with a loss to Austin Ekeler.

Rivers was 19-year-old in the first half of Sunday, scoring his first three passes in the second half to break Mark Brunnell's record of consecutive finals to start a game.

Rivers added two more finals to tie Tannehill's record, a 25th assist for Keenan Allen who resisted a video replay to see if he was trapped.

Tannehill's record was set on two games with Miami in the 2015 season.

Philip Rivers was perfect in the first half for the Chargers, scoring 19 of 19 attempts for 187 yards and two touchdowns to help the Chargers take a 28-10 lead over the Cardinals.

Melvin Gordon also has a pair of TD tracks for the Chargers.

The Chargers (7-3) are trying to keep pace with the Chiefs (9-2) in AFC West.

Denver, another of their West Africa West African rivals, Denver, is helping both of their causes when it comes to qualifying for the playoffs. They give the Steelers (7-2-1) everything they can handle in the first half.

Ryan Tannehill of Miami took his first steps in a game after missing the previous five due to an injury to the shoulder. There was apparently nothing missing in Indianapolis.

Tannehill completed his first two passes for 34 yards, limiting the practice with a pass on the screen indicating that Kenyan Drake had 33 yards for a touchdown, ending the nine-quarter run of the Dolphins without TD.

The reader took only six pieces and came five times after Colts linebacker Darius Leonard injured his knee and headed straight for the locker room. Leonard came in the weekend to lead the league with 104 tackles. His return was described as questionable.

The rookie quarterbacks dominated the first games of Week 12 while Lamar Jackson had two touchdowns to lead Baltimore to Oakland, Baker Mayfield conceded four touchdowns in the Browns' win over the Bengals and Josh Allen scored on the ground and the tunes during a victory over Jacksonville.

Tom Brady and Sony Michel had big days to lead the Patriots to a 27-13 victory over the New York Jets, and Russell Wilson to lead Seattle for a 30-27 victory over the Panthers.

That ruined the big day of Carolina's Christian McCaffrey.

In the other first games, the Buccaneers routed the 49ers 27-9, while the Eagles, the Super Bowl champions, came from behind to beat the Giants 25-22.

The Cardinals scored in their opening game as Josh Rosen threw a 25-yard touchdown to Larry Fitzgerald to take a 7-0 lead over the Los Angeles Chargers.

Rosen, who grew up in Manhattan Beach and traveled to UCLA, completed all four passes for a 56-yard run in front of home fans.

The StubHub Center also marks the 41st stadium of the NFL where Fitzgerald captured a pass.

The Tennessee Titans downgraded wide receiver Taywan Taylor, who injured his foot a few weeks ago against Dallas, to play Monday night's game in Houston.

Taylor had been limited in practice this week.

The Titans also added that the outside linebacker, linebacker Derrick Morgan, was suspected of illness. Left tackle Taylor Lewan did not train with an illness, but he had to play Monday night.

Christian McCaffrey has 10 catches for 104 yards and 17 touchdowns and 17 touchdowns, making him the first player in Carolina history with at least 100 yards in the same game.

Offensive back Leonard Fournette and Bills, Shaq Lawson of Jacksonville, were sent off after exchanging punches along the sidelines at the end of the third quarter of their game.

The fight started after Jags' Donte Moncrief captured what was initially judged to be a 30-yard pass from the left pole. He was fighting for control of the ball with Levi Wallace when a Jaguar player hit Jordan Poyer, who was in charge of the safety of the Bills, from behind, then Lawson entered and knocked Fournette.

Lawson and Fournette made their way to the stands where they exchanged punches while Jaguars running back Carlos Hyde and defenseman Bills, Jerry Hughes, tried to separate them.

The two men were then escorted off their respective sidelines and began shouting at them as soon as they reached the tunnel. Lawson had to be held by a Bills official, while Fournette was expected to wait. He was then hit in the left shoulder by a fan, who had reached out his hand.

The Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton injured his thumb in the hand when he tried to recover a fumble at the start of the second half of their match against the Cleveland Browns.

Dalton chased a quick blow through his head and was caught in a heap. He immediately went to a locker room for an examination.

The Browns recovered the fumble and Baker Mayfield launched his fourth touchdown pass for a 35-7 lead. Dalton was 10 of 17 for 100 yards with a touchdown and an interception.

Dalton broke his right thumb at the end of the 2015 season and missed the playoffs.

Arizona quarterback Josh Rosen wore a black T-shirt at the start of preparations, supporting the Los Angeles fire department and asking fans to text to the Cross -Rouge to relieve forest fires before Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Chargers at StubHub Center.

Rosen is from Southern California. He grew up in Manhattan Beach and went to UCLA before being selected a 10th overall by the Cardinals in the repechage last April.

When Jason Myers of the Jets scored 55 yards with 3 seconds left in the first half against New England, he became the first kicker in the history of the NFL to score five attempts on yards more than 55 yards in a season.

Myers also had 55 runners against Miami, Minnesota and Buffalo. He made a 56-yard run in Miami, which is the second fastest for the franchise. Chandler Catanzaro scored a 57-yard goal against Cleveland last season.

Myers also tied the Jets' ground clearance record for the fourth time this season with the 55-yard kick. He tied the score at 10 at halftime.

Saquon Barkley beat Philadelphia 5-0.

The Giants' rookie scored 51 rushing yards in the second quarter, giving New York a 19-3 lead over the Super Bowl Eagles.

Barkley has mastered the art of the long term against them.

He earned a 55-yard touchdown pass and a 50-yard touchdown in the first game of this season between NFC East rivals. Barkley had 130 yards on the ground and nine passes for 99 yards in the game last month, and 94 yards on the floor in the first half on Sunday.

Brownies safety Damarious Randall predicted on Friday that his team would crush the Bengals if wide receiver A.J. Green has not played and until now, Cleveland has a 21-0 lead.

The Patriots quarterback played Sunday against the New York Jets and needed 147 yards to beat Peyton Manning's 79,279 goals. He managed the feat with a 16-yard pass to Josh Gordon early in the second quarter.

Brady also racked up 253 yards for the 16th season in a row, leveling Manning for second place behind Brett Favre's 18 seasons.

Brady had the opportunity to set another record Sunday. He needs four touchdown passes to reach Manning's record of 579, the largest number in the history of the NFL including playoff games.
