SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) – Long-time journalist and radio host, Ray Taliaferro, is still missing.

The 79-year-old man was reported missing in Paducah, Kentucky, where he was last seen on 10 November.

Taliaferro reportedly met his manager at a Paducah pizzeria earlier in the day.

It's a man that many people have listened to on KGO radio in the Bay Area for many years.

According to friends, Taliaferro was also president of the Arts Commission, the Leukemia Society, and the NAACP San Francisco Chapter.

"Millions of people spent the night with Ray Taliaferro from Monday to Friday from 1pm to 5pm," said John Rothmann, host of KGO Radio's talk show. "Ray Taliaferro could not miss you – his wonderful commitment to human rights, his remarkable commitment to San Francisco and his remarkable commitment to people."

He is considered a legend of San Francisco.

"He's one of those larger-than-life talents, and he's one of those you dream of becoming someone like Ray," said KGO Radio host Pat Thurston. "Always true to himself, a heart of gold."

A leaflet from Taliaferro on missing persons warns that it "could be disoriented and show signs of dementia".

Michelle Kingston, of KRON4, spoke to the authorities who said that Taliaferro and his new wife, six months old, were in Kentucky looking for a property she had inherited.

She told the security forces that she was walking in the property when she returned and noticed that Taliaferro had left in their rental car.
