The Cleveland Brown thrived after sacking Hue Jackson after their loss to the Steelers in the eighth week. Since then, Jackson has joined the staff of the Cincinnati Bengals, where the Browns won 35 to 20 on Sunday.
Damallous Randall said during the week, "If they do not have A.J., they get beaten up."
Baker Mayfield also hinted that the Browns were not worried about the new knowledge their former coach could have brought with him:
#Browns QB Baker Mayfield on the fact that Hue knowing that his offense could be a benefit to #Bengaux: "No …. (asked why) … just no."
– Keith Britton (@ KeithBritton86) November 21, 2018
Well, the Browns beat the Bengals' ass as Randall said. They also added style points throughout the match.
Mayfield was in the early stages and showed a sense of confidence with this fake dummy:
Moments later, Mayfield hit David Njoku for that touchdown that Probably should have been blown dead. Instead, he was literally taken to the end zone by his teammates for one of the NFL's best touchdowns of the season:
For all the times that football fans complain about refereeing, I would like to direct them to that room. The only opponents will be the Bengals fans, and that's good. Sometimes a small percentage of us must be on the losing side of something awesome for the rest (see: Super Bowl 51).
Now back to Damarious Randall for a second. Because shortly after landing at Njoku, Randall intercepted Andy Dalton and has only to go a few extra steps to deliver the ball to Hue Jackson.
Then, while there were only two and a half minutes remaining in the second quarter, Nick Chubb showed that he might have the best of any NFL running back to make a match at the end of the day. 0:
The last time the Browns scored 28 points in the first half, it was in 1991. They literally died (in 1995) and came back to life before doing it again 27 years later.
The Bengals spread their scores at the end of the first half, as well as in the third and fourth quarters, so that the score is not as bad considering the buzzer. Anyway, it's a dominant performance of the Browns.
Mayfield finished match 19 of the 26 of 26 with 258 yards and four touchdowns. Chubb, who previously played behind Carlos Hyde when Jackson coached, scored 84 yards and a touchdown while adding 44 yards and a touchdown.
Since Jackson left the Browns, they are 2-1, losing to the Chiefs. The Bengals, however, are now 0-2 since his arrival. That does not mean that the losses of the Bengals are only on Jackson, because it would be dishonest.
Although this is funny that he left the Browns now improved and that the Bengals slip. The Browns are now 4-6-1, the most wins in a season since 2014.
Let's go to the other fun stuff of a busy week.
CORDARRELLE PATTERSON GRABBIN 'DEEZ NUTS
I do not tolerate what Cordarrelle Patterson did here by biting Henry Anderson's crotch to death.
That said, the scene here is hilarious and we must recognize it:
I want to emphasize that this was not some kind of scoop in bulk or something like that. This is a GRIP death:
Patterson is a catcher, so he also has the sticky gloves. Anderson is honestly lucky that he has recovered from this problem, to our knowledge.
Patterson's quote in the post-game was incredibly simple:
Cordarrelle Patterson explains why he was caught off guard by CBS grabbing someone, he had tried to take it. "I am an adult man. I do not need anyone nor ass nor dick nor balls in the face. "
– Conor Orr (@ConorOrr) November 25, 2018
I do not understand that I do not want it to show. But if I were in the same situation, I do not know if trying to grab them and destroy them under my hand is the most effective way to get rid of that. A powerful push would probably have been enough.
And for Anderson's defense, he was rather on the side. But it happened anyway.
No big surprise here, but Jalen Ramsey spent some early moments in the Jags-Bills game by calling different players in the Bills' trash:
However, this was just the beginning of what has become a very lively football game. The two teams went bad after Donte Moncrief escaped on Levi Wallace, with the two players fighting for the ball:
There is a lot going on there, but Leonard Fournette and Shaq Lawson were the heads of this map. Fournette stood up like a Rock'em Sock'em robot and the two found themselves on the ground:
Lawson and Fournette were ejected. Before leaving the field, a fan also swept Fournette, because that's what dorks do when they know that security will protect them against an NFL player who could probably make them scream with their little finger.
The Jags and Bills do not really have much to look at this season, but at least there have been other forms of entertainment that have resulted in a 24-21 Bills win.
Even Josh Allen was respected by Ramsey after the match, who had previously referred to it as "trash" in GQ:
Ramsey is the first to shake hands with Josh Allen. He had to catch it to return it. Respect that.
– Buffalo Rumblings (@BuffRumblings) November 25, 2018
…. Ramsey will probably still call Allen trash at some point.
The Colts should probably be better off with Andrew Luck
Andrew Luck has had a lot of health problems in recent years. He had an excellent season back, entering Sunday's game with 29 touchdowns and nearly 2,800 yards.
The Colts decided that the best decision was to put him in danger in this fourth and one play:
The game has worked and I am convinced that Luck is one of the most difficult quarters to play in the NFL. Neither is he a little guy at 6'4, 240. If a quarter can succeed, it's him.
However, I do not know either that the Colts should roll this set of dice considering their history of injury.
The Colts eventually won the game with a goal scored in the final 27-24 after being led 24-24, and Luck survived without injury. And uh, the Colts have quietly won five straight games and are in the playoff race.
Alejandro Villanueva is no longer eligible for Piesman, but sheeeesh
While there was only three seconds remaining in the first period and the touchdown was over, Mike Tomlin decided to support The Troops by making a assist against Alejandro Villanueva.
The kicker Chris Boswell received the slam and launched the perfect pass to Villanueva, wide open:
"COME ON GUYS!" De Vance Joseph was a nice finishing touch:
This game did not make any difference, after Ben Roethlisberger launched a late interception to seal the Broncos' 24-17 victory.
But maybe the touch of Villanueva should have counted for more points because of its quality.
The Seahawks suffered a defeat for the third time in a row against the Panthers on Sunday with a 30-27 victory. Tyler Lockett's celebration is one of the highlights of this game.
He emulated Allen Iverson's iconic jump to Tyronn Lue in the 2000 NBA Finals:
The celebration was also symbolic of the fact that the Seahawks crossed the Panthers with a tiebreaker in the image of the NFC playoffs. Of course, there is a lot of season left.
The accidental reversal of Chris Carson was both phenomenal and lucky
The hedge is a pretty common thing in the NFL nowadays. You can probably imagine a moment or two when Le'Veon Bell, Ezekiel Elliott, Adrian Peterson or another explosive runner have done so in recent years.
So when Chris Carson accidentally set this turnaround and continued to run, it was rather serious:
Carson is lucky to have landed, and even more not to have been hurt during the match. But what is most impressive is that he does not seem to have had a moment when he was surprised that he was landing. He just kept moving all the time as if it was exactly what he was planning to do without.
The Vikings were playing in limbo
Dalvin Cook had his first touchdown since he tore up his ACL last season and helped orchestrate this celebration where Adam Thielen was used as a limbo stick:
It's a good way to celebrate your first touchdown in over a year. It's certainly one of the most creative projects we've seen in 2018.
Let's hope that Mike Zimmer was not a party supporter of the Vikings raising one of the best receivers of the NFL as an accessory when they came back on the sidelines. Knowing him, he was probably … but can you blame him?
