Commitments arrive fast and furious for the Michigan football program.

Late on Sunday night, the Wolverines landed four-star defensive lineman Mazi Smith of East Kentwood.

In his announcement on Twitter, titled "It's Wraps," the 6-foot-3, 290-pound tackling tackle contained a note that served as a verbal commitment to head coach Jim Harbaugh and Michigan .

"The most difficult thing I've ever done … but the confidence that I have in this program has weighed all the doubts I have about them," Smith wrote. "I am comfortable and I will remain firm in my decision to be part of this program."

According to the US magazine 247Sport, Smith ranks 123rd in the overall rankings on Sunday in 2019 and seventh among the best defensive tackles in the country. He is considered the fourth best player in the state of Michigan.

This commitment follows a large Michigan recruitment weekend, which welcomed Smith and a host of other high school students on campus. Smith had scholarship offers from 19 other schools, choosing the Wolverines on Penn State, Alabama, Georgia, Notre Dame and others.

"Thank you to everyone who recruited me," Smith said in his note. "Thank you to everyone who supported me, thank you to everyone who helped me develop mentally, physically and emotionally.

"Thanks to my mom for putting me in this position."

Smith joins defensive five-star Chris Hinton and defensive four-star Stephen Herron Jr. as part of Michigan's 2019 recruiting class, which currently has 14 players and 10th in the country .

Earlier in the day, the Wolverines secured verbal pledges from running back Zach Charbonnet (Westlake Village, CA) and three-star star Erick All (Fairfield, Ohio).
