SAN FRANCISCO (AP) – Hunter Pence has re-equipped his swing under the direction of a striking guru while rehabilitating the miners with a right thumb sprain.
A few days ago, he came back to some things from the old approach and adjusted his position.
"A weird swing from Hunter Pence," said the San Francisco outfielder, mocking himself.

The Giants rally has ruined Robert Stock's up-and-coming player in his long-awaited debut in the majors at the age of 28. He worked hard on the 10th after being called earlier in the day by Triple A Paso.
Joe Panik doubled to the top of 10th before Stock retired with a pair of strikeouts.
Stock 's parents were in AT & T Park' s grandstands in case he would receive the call.
"I think getting to know the hardships and tribulations that some people go through over a career in a minor league instead of some people coming in there, maybe makes you appreciate more," Stock said.
TRAINER ROOM
Padres: Travis Jankowski was a late scratch with left quadriceps pain and Matt Szczur replaced him in the left field. … Austin Hedges went without knocking in his return from the disabled list. He was activated and started, hitting seventh, after being sidelined since May 1 with tendonitis in his right elbow. … RHP Jordan Lyles, scratched in the bottom of the first Saturday just before his scheduled start, was placed on the DL retroactively on Thursday with an inflammation in his swinging elbow. He will return to San Diego and will be examined on Monday, but the injury is not considered serious – it is thought that there is no structural damage – and from now on, the staff of Training did not provide for additional exams, although manager Andy Green acknowledged that this could change.
Giants: Bochy is encouraged by the first RHP rehabilitation exit Johnny Cueto while he works from a sprained bend.
