CALABASAS, California (KABC) –

While authorities are investigating the murder of a father in front of his daughters in a Calabasas campground, new information is being released on other seemingly random shootings in the same area.

Tristan Beaudette, 35, from Irvine camped with her two young daughters at Malibu Creek State Park when he was shot in the upper body. Investigators say that he was shot in front of his daughters, ages 2 and 4, in his tent early Friday morning.

Friends and family members say that Beaudette died while doing what he liked – enjoying the outdoors with his daughters. His wife did not accompany them during the trip because she was studying for an exam. The couple planned to move soon to Northern California for new jobs.

Now, other people who were shot while they were in the same park come forward and wonder if the shots are linked.

Meliss Tatangelo was camping with her boyfriend in January 2017 at the park when she heard a loud noise in the middle of the night. She discovered a bullet hole in the back of her car. She reported the shooting to the authorities, who examined the bullet hole and recovered the bullet.

There are reports of other shots at the park, including a man who was shot there in 2016. Another man said his car was hit by a shot around 4:30 am on Monday.

Investigators say that they are aware of other shootings reports, but say that there is no evidence to link them.
