LOCKPORT, N.Y. – Two workers were killed by 800-pound (363-kilogram) countertop slabs that fell on them while they were unloaded from a trailer in New York.
The Niagara County Sheriff's Office says it appears that 11 slabs of Corian brand material have collapsed on workers around 1:30 pm Monday at the XPO Logistics facility in Lockport, near of Buffalo.
The men were declared dead on the scene. Their names were not immediately released.
According to a spokesperson, XPO Logistics, headquartered in Greenwich, Connecticut, is expected to comment on Monday.
Corian is a solid man made material produced by DuPont.
