Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) announced a $ 364 million production contract for Tactical Missile System of the Army (ATACMS) missiles for the US military and a customer of foreign military sales.

The program will enable military services to upgrade their existing Block 1 missiles with new technology and double the range, while extending the life of missiles by more than 10 years and providing fighters with the latest capability. ground-to-ground missiles.

The two towers of the SLEP and the new ATACMS will be produced at the Lockheed Martin Precision Fires Excellence Center in Camden, Arkansas. All missiles under this contract are expected to be delivered by January 2021.

Lockheed Martin has produced more than 3,850 ATACMS missiles. More than 600 ATACMS were fired in combat, and the system has demonstrated extremely high levels of accuracy and reliability in the theater. Each ATACMS missile is packaged in a guided missile launch assembly module, and is fired from the Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) family of launchers.
