(CBSLA) – A video on social media on Monday shows a woman from San Bernardino County spitting racist hate speech about a Latin American woman, and she defends the remarks by saying that the president did the same.

Kenidra Woods, a 17-year-old activist, posted the video on Twitter, claiming that her friend Esteban Guzman of Pomona was being harassed by "a racist white woman" while working with her mother.

The video begins with the woman turning the middle finger up to Guzman's face outside a structure at Lake Arrowhead.

"I do not know why you hate us, why do you hate?" Guzman asks the woman.

"Because you are Mexicans," answers the woman.

"Because we are Mexicans?"

"Yeah."

As pointless as it may seem, Guzman defends himself and his mother, with whom he was doing garden work on Saturday morning.

"We are honest people here," rejects Guzman.

"Yeah, rapists," laughed the woman.

"The rapists, how many people did I rape?"

"You are rapists, animals, drug traffickers, rapists, animals, even the president of the United States says it," the woman replies, starting to move away.

"How many drugs have I treated?" Guzman asks in the crosstalk.

"Oh yes, you believe everything you see on the news?" Asks Guzman. "Do you see how hard we work here?"

"Yeah, yes," the woman replies. "I see what you're doing here, you also pollute everyone's yard."

In Spanish, Guzman's mother, who seems to be the one who records, tells her son: "Tell him that she sees we're done.

When the woman hears the Spaniards, she makes fun of Guzman's mother, uttering gibberish before turning to Guzman, saying, "Come here, little boy.

The video was viewed more than 3.7 million times and received 43,000 retweets Monday night.

Woods continued the Twitter feed on the incident, showing pictures of Guzman graduate of Cal Poly Pomona.

"Despite what the white racist has said – he's not a rapist, he's not selling drugs either – he's a hardworking man who really inspires me," Woods wrote.

Guzman, 27, told CBS2 News that he was born and raised in Lake Arrowhead, where the incident occurred, not in Mexico. He works as an administrative assistant during the week and helps with family building activities on weekends.

He said the confrontation began when some of the debris that he was cleaning up with his mother drifted into the woman's yard.

"She does not know who we are, so if she wants to sit down and talk, I can more than – [I’m] more than happy to explain who I am and what I do, "Guzman said.

Despite the vitriol, Guzman said that he does not blame her or even Donald Trump.

"I do not blame her, I do not blame the president, I just think it's morally wrong, what she does," Guzman said.

The then candidate, Donald Trump, launched his presidential campaign in 2015 stating, "When Mexico sends its people, it does not do its best. They send people who have a lot of problems.[…] They bring drugs, they bring the crime. They are rapists. And some, I suppose, are good people. "

More recently, the president called gang members Mara Salvatrucha, or MS-13, who debuted in Los Angeles in the 1980s "animals" in a discussion about sanctuary cities.

Guzman posted the original video on his Facebook page Saturday with the caption,

"Thank you for voting for Trump because, thanks to him everywhere I go, I am a rapist, an animal and a drug dealer. You do not know what it is that d & # 39; I can take all the racist slurs that they can throw me in. However, when they start screaming at my mom, it's another story. We are honest, hardworking and respectful people. PLEASE WE NEED TO WORK TOGETHER TO STOP RACISM! "

"I believe that teaching people about our culture, our traditions is the best way to go because, in this way, they can better understand a little bit of where we come from and who we are, "Guzman told CBS2.

On Sunday, Facebook removed the video, which Guzman said was the result of "showing that global racism still exists". Facebook then restored the video saying that it had been removed by mistake and that it did not violate community standards.
