Dead body found at NFL star house Janoris Jenkins, Cops investigation

13:52 PT –The Bergen County Attorney's Office tells TMZ Sports … that the corpse is a man, but he's not the owner of the house.

Officials will not disclose the identity until relatives have been informed.

"The investigation is ongoing, and additional information will be provided when it becomes available and appropriate for publication."

A corpse was found at the home of New York Giants star New Jersey Janoris Jenkins Tuesday and now the Major Crimes Unit investigates … TMZ Sports has learned.

First of all, we are told that Janoris was out of state when the body was discovered early Tuesday morning – but sources connected to the NFL player tell us that his side is aware of the situation.

We do not know if the police have identified a suspect or even have a theory that works on how the person died.

Sources tell us that the body was discovered in the basement by a worker at home. Police officers from Bergen County went to the scene. We are told that the coroner was introduced shortly thereafter.

The identity of the victim is not clear – we know that investigators are actively working on the case.

A source related to Jenkins says that the NFL player was in Florida and was not home when the cops arrived.

We reached out to JJ representatives to comment – but, until now, no word back.
