Shinsuke Nakamura defying Jeff Hardy for the US championship was the focal point of Tuesday night's Smackdown Live promotion, but on Tuesday afternoon, the company released a video announcing that Shinsuke had been injured and unable to compete. Hardy has launched an open challenge to find a replacement opponent.
WWE does not have to go into details on exactly what Nakamura's injury washowever, and you would not have guessed if I had given you a hundred tries. According to Dave Meltzer at the Wrestling Observer, Nakamura has been removed from Smackdown and is unsure for the upcoming Japanese home shows because he was bitten in the leg by a police dog in Bakersfield.
