Red Sox Wrap: Boston Smacks Four Home Runs in 9-1 Trounce Angels | Red Sox wrap

The Boston Red Sox have been one of the best teams in the Major League Baseball this season, and this was the case Tuesday night.

Four races propelled the Sox to a 9-1 win over the Los Angeles Angels in the first game of a three-game series at Fenway Park.

Mookie Betts, Jackie Bradley Jr., Christian Vazquez and J.D. Martinez were responsible for the four long balls, while Boston starter David Price gave only one run in six innings.

The Red Sox rise to 53-27 with the win, while the Angels fall to 41-39 with the loss.

Here's how everything fell:

GAME IN A WORD
Fight.

It was a singer after another for the Sox, while even the lonely run of the Angels came from a circuit.

ON BUMP
– Prize put together a solid six rounds of work. He allowed one run on five hits with two walks and seven strikeouts, climbing to 9-5 during the season.

The only problem Price has ventured into occurred in the third inning. With a 5-0 cushion, he allowed Chris Young to win an individual solo race before charging the goals with two outs. With the basics in mind, however, Price allowed Albert Pujols to end the heat.

The left handed 1-2-3 shots in the first and second innings, and aside from the third inning, Price did not allow a runner to overtake the first base.

– Heath Hembree started a 1-2-3 seventh inning with a pair of strikeouts.

– Brandon Workman retired in the round of 16 with a strikeout strike.

– Justin Haley – who was called earlier in the day – finished the game with a 1-2-3 ninth.

IN THE BATTERY BOX
– Betts did not wait long to make his mark on the game, putting the first pitch that he saw in the Sox bullpen to make 1-0 Boston in the first inning.

– The Red Sox stacked more points in the second, chasing Angels pitcher John Lamb after scoring four points in the frame.

Eduardo Nunez led the way with a single, and he was second after Rafael Devers missed an error on second-base Ian Kinsler's pitch. Then, with a withdrawal, Bradley Jr. slammed a double to score both runners and make 3-0.

After a walk from Betts, Bradley scored on a brace from Andrew Benintendi to make it 4-0. And with the bases loaded and two down, Mitch Moreland drove into one with only one who deflected from Lamb. The inning ended with a shot from Nunez after Lamb was removed from the game.

– From there, Boston has added to his lead in clubbing three solo home races. Bradley hit one in the Green Monster seats in the third inning, with Vazquez hitting a Monster light tower in the fifth. Martinez then raised the score to 8-1 with a sixth-inning shot in the center right.

– The Red Sox added a few extra points in the seventh end, with Blake Swihart being the best hitter in the innings with a single, followed by a doubling of Vazquez to place Swihart in third. Bradley then drove Swihart with a single to make 9-1.

– All said, Bradley led the Sox with three hits, while Martinez and Vazquez added two each. Betts, Benintendi, Xander Bogaerts, Moreland, Nunez, Swihart and Brock Holt each had one. Defenders and hitter Tzu-Wei Lin went without knocking.

TWEET OF NIGHT
It sounds familiar …
