HOUSTON – A video on mobile phone shows the moment when a passenger became enraged after his flight made an emergency landing in Minnesota. Stephanie Calder told KHOU-TV, a subsidiary of CBS, that she had started recording when another passenger started screaming after the flight had to land urgently.

Spirit Airlines flight 346 flew from Houston to Minneapolis on Monday, but was diverted to Rochester when the flight attendants discovered a male passenger in need of medical attention. But when the plane landed, Calder said the woman was asking to be allowed.

"Suddenly, it is there that the lady came running to the back of the plane," Calder said. "She started saying that she is not going to calm down and want to leave the plane and the like."

The police arrived and escorted the woman out of the plane. Calder said she was worried about the safety of her 15-year-old daughter during the incident.

"I was at a row behind the emergency exit door, but we were disembarked, but who knows what this woman could have done?

Police said the woman was taken for a mental health assessment, according to KHOU. Spirit Airlines is excused from customers in a statement.

"We apologize to our guests who had to attend this and for the inconvenience of the delay," said a company spokesman at KHOU-TV. "Safety (is) our top priority at Spirit Airlines."
