Health officials in Mecklenburg County urge those who have eaten at Hardee's at Little Rock Road in West Charlotte to receive a vaccination against hepatitis A as soon as possible.
They said that a restaurant worker was diagnosed with hepatitis A and may have exposed thousands of clients to the disease.
according to WSOC, said the director of health, people who ate at Hardee's between June 13 and 23 must be vaccinated within 14 days of coming into contact with hepatitis A.
Officials said that up to 4,000 people ate at the restaurant during this 10-day period.

Officials said that the employee who tested positive for hepatitis A was manipulating the food and that is why others may have been exposed.
The health department on Monday discovered that the employee had been diagnosed with liver disease, but waited until Tuesday to inform the public.
"We did not have any information yesterday and if we had talked to the state yesterday, it really would not have changed our schedule," said Health Director Gibbie Harris.
Hepatitis A is one of the mildest forms of hepatitis, causing flu-like symptoms and, in some cases, jaundice.
It is usually passed on when people do not wash their hands after using the bathroom.
The Hardee's restaurant closed voluntarily Tuesday afternoon.
