CONCORD – A blaze of wind grasses lit in Concord near the Walnut Creek border on Friday afternoon, causing the evacuation of several homes, authorities said. 30 pm
Reported around 3:40 pm on Ygnacio Valley and Cowell streets, the fire had burned 268 acres in and around the open Lime Ridge area and was confined to 85% to 21 h 45, according to the County of Contra Costa Fire Protection District
There was no immediate report of damage, but two firefighters suffered minor burns, said district fire spokesman Robert Marshall. there was no time estimate for complete containment. Even though the fire was not progressing, the vegetation in the center of the affected area was still burning.

An on-site shelter order was issued around 5 pm for parts of Walnut Creek and Concord near the fire. Authorities also temporarily closed the Ygnacio Valley Road at Oak Grove Road

Elsewhere on Friday, firefighters fought a 60-acre fire near the Tesla and Reuss roads in Livermore. Cal Fire reported that the fire was contained at 50% around 9 pm
