British Health Service Reduces Unnecessary Treatment

LONDON (AP) – The British National Health Service has proposed reducing Operations Breast reductions and anti-snoring treatments as part of plans to save money and reduce "unnecessary or risky procedures."
National Medical Director Stephen Powis said that The agency could save about 200 million pounds a year. the criteria for treatments where the risks could outweigh the benefits.
The list of 17 treatments considered to be stopped or reduced includes tonsillar swabs and procedures for carpal tunnel, hemorrhoids and varicose veins. Authorities will discuss proposals next week
The announcement was made as thousands are expected to protest Saturday in London to mark the 70th anniversary of the NHS and demand the end of government budget cuts
