Nine people were injured, some critically, during a violent knife attack in Boise, Idaho, on Saturday night.
The Boise Police Department chief, Bill Bones, said they had been called about a man with a knife who was attacking victims in an apartment complex at 8:46 pm . local hour. The suspect was located and immediately placed in police custody, the police said.
Police officers then located the victims, nine of whom were found in the building and its parking lot, police said. Nine victims were located and taken to a local hospital. Police said some of the victims have fatal injuries.

Bones identified the suspect as a 30-year-old man in the US. outside the state. not aware of the reason. He said the victims did not seem to have provoked the suspect.
"This incident is not a representation of our community, but a single evil individual who attacked unprovoked people we are aware of right now," Bones said Saturday night.
"Our community is shocked by this attack," he added.
The Boise Police Department also stated on its Twitter account that "some of the victims include members of the refugee community."
"The suspect is in detention and questioned at this time," Boise police said on his Twitter feed. "Victim coordinators and counselors work with victims and witnesses to provide services in the coming days and weeks."
