A mother who asked to be away from work at a gas station because of a family emergency became viral because the text exchange with her boss shared on Facebook was shockingly foolish .
Michigan's mother, Crystal Reynolds Fisher, told her manager that she would not be able to work a quarter ahead because her son was alive . His manager replied: "If you can not come to work, it's you who resigns."
It gets worse.
The manager, identified in texts as Dawn, tells Crystal, "There is no reason you can not work and I will not tolerate the drama."
Twenty-four hours and nearly 56,000 shares later, the manager was fired and Fisher was assured that his job was safe.

People were horrified by the text exchange and the company that ran the gas station, Folk Oil Company, was apparently also .
" We investigated and found that the situation was mismanaged and without the compassion we value as a business. For that, we are really sorry.

Still waiting for a diagnosis
Fisher told wwmt.com in western Michigan that Jason, his 18-year-old son, is in intensive care at CS Mott Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
She has no definitive answer about what landed her son in the hospital with a fever and put him on a ventilator. Tuesday afternoon's doctors thought it could be a type of sepsis, she says.
