Anthony Anderson is currently the subject of a criminal investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department.
A LAPD spokesperson confirms to ET that he has received a black crime report against and that a criminal investigation is underway. After The Blast who was the first to announce the news, Anderson is accused of assaulting a woman last year after taking charge of one of his events. Sources tell the site that the woman met Anderson a second time after the event to talk about future opportunities with the actor when the alleged assault occurred. Specific details regarding the alleged incident are currently unclear.
An Anderson spokesman denies the claim and tells ET: "It is unfortunate that anyone can file a police report, whether true or false.
Earlier this month, Anderson received his fourth Emmy nomination for his role in the ABC sitcom. He is also ready to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame later this year
