Prasad still has a family in Ranchi and visits the city once a year and a half. In fact, the famous engineering has completed his studies in India. After completing his engineering at the Birla Institute of Technology, Ranch, Prasad went to the Illinois Institute of Technology in the United States for an MS in Electrical Engineering. It's probably there that his interest in speech recognition has begun.
Tech inspired by "Star Trek"
Prasad joined Amazon in 2018 and works intensively to revolutionize the way whose customers interact with Amazon products and services. Two years ago, he was renamed chief scientist of artificial intelligence of Alexa. Ask about his trip, the engineer said: "We grew up in the era" Star Trek ", which was the inspiration for us."

Before working at Amazon, Prasad worked at BBN Technologies, a R & D branch of the defense company Raytheon. BBN was one of the founding sites of ARPANET, a predecessor of the Internet.

Addressing Those Who Counted
Prasad and his colleague Toni Reid, who focuses on the Consumer experience, was the number 15 on Recode's list of 100 people in technology, business and media that counted in 2017. Recode said that Prasad and Reid had made Alexa a household name . He was also ranked # 9 (and Reid # 10) in Fast Company's Top 100 Most Innovative People in Business in 2017. Fast Company said Prasad and Reid had turned Alexa into a "category consumer experience".
His current goal is to improve Alexa's basic intelligence, to enable him to handle ambiguous commands and to accomplish complex tasks – such as planning holidays .
