LONG POND, Pa – Kyle Busch won his sixth race of the season Sunday at the Pocono Raceway in overtime. Busch left from behind after failing the post – qualifying inspection before linking Kevin Harvick to the head of the NASCAR Cup Series.
The trip to Victory Lane is the second of Busch's career in Pocono. Busch also won this race last season before finishing second in the championship 4. Sunday's effort completed the Busch weekend sweep as he also took the checkered flag in the Saturday Truck series.
Busch's victory is the 49th of his Cup career and links him to retired driver Tony Stewart, who finished 13th on the all-time list. Next, Rowdy will welcome NASCAR Hall of Fame Junior Johnson and Ned Jarrett, each of whom has 50 Cup career victories.
Chase Elliott started the race in sixth place and won the first stage after taking the lead of Denny Hamlin with less than 15 goals to go. The mid-race win is Elliott's second of the season, with the first-ever finish in Stage 2 of last week's race in New Hampshire. Hamlin was second, followed by Kevin Harvick, Kyle Busch and Daniel Suarez
. Harvick took control of the second leg, winning his tenth green and white checkered flag of the season. Elliott then finished second ahead of Clint Bowyer, Alex Bowman and Kyle Larson.

Daniel Suarez started after his former player Kevin Harvick was disqualified due to a failed inspection. Harvick, along with Kyle Busch, who also had to leave from behind, won more than 10 positions in the first round as they began their charge on the field.
Harvick had no problem to fight his way forward, breaking the top 10 within 10 laps of the race. It took Busch a bit less than 20 laps to get Alex Bowman into the top 10.
Car # 4 got green flag supplies on the 20th lap. Two laps later, Suarez and second-place driver Denny Hamlin unearthed in advance. Jamie McMurray and Matt Kenseth were the lone penalties, both of which needed to serve as pass-throughs to speed up the entry. Kurt Busch was the spearhead of the strategy, but eventually entered the stands on lap 33.
Once No. 41 finally went to pit road, Hamlin recycled as leader in front of Suarez . Chase Elliott would then pass No. 19 for second position as the stage came in his last 15 laps. Harvick also entered the top five after refueling.
With 11 laps to go, Elliott made the pass on Hamlin for the lead. Once Elliott took first place, he did not let Hamlin get him back on the stage. The # 9 driver will win his second leg of the season. It is also important to note that in a strategy game, Martin Truex Jr. and Erik Jones are eliminated before the end of the stage so that they do not have to go back down between stages [19659173] Stage 1 Results:
- Chase Elliott (10 points plus 1 point of the playoffs)
- Kevin Harvick (9 points)
- Denny Hamlin (8 points)
- Kyle Busch ( 7 points)
- Daniel Suarez (6 points)
- Clint Bowyer (5 points) [19659008] Brad Keselowski (4 points)
- Kurt Busch (3 points)
- Alex Bowman (2 points) [19659008] Ryan Blaney (1 point)
Step 2 Results: Harvick still dominates …
] Erik Jones led the pack to green after staying in between stages and was immediately instructed to push back Elliott and Harvick. Number 4 finally took Elliott 's second place 11 laps in the scene with his views on the rookie of the year last year.
Fourteen laps in the special and 64 laps, Harvick completed his race back and took the lead of Jones. Once he landed first place, Harvick started doing what we are so used to watching him do: get away from everyone.
While Harvick was leading, Kurt Busch went into strategy for four tires after just two stages. However, it was Hamlin who really had green flag stops going around 23 rounds in the scene. It was a perfect timing for Truex, who felt something fly from his car and was able to make quick repairs. Harvick came down a few laps later from the head.
The first natural warning of the afternoon came from Corey LaJoie, who hit hard in Turn 3. It was a break for six drivers: Suarez, McMurray, Blaney, Kasey Kahne, Menard and Brad Keselowski, who had not yet found the green flag and who had the opportunity to go down during the yellows. Kurt Busch had to go down the pit twice during the yellow after reports of cowardly lugnuts.
Harvick and Elliott led the pack in green at the restart, but Kyle Busch came in second, while No. 4 led the first lap. Harvick then began doing his thing, building his head with Busch in his rearview mirror. Harvick was so long and goodbye after this point, leading to easily win the stage
Jones, Truex, Hamlin, Almirola and Suarez pit before the pit closed knowing that Harvick would win the stage, so that they could [19659173] Stage 2 Results:

Final stage: Kyle Busch does his job
William Byron chose not to dig between the stages and took the lead in front of the entire Joe Gibbs Racing squad, ahead of Kyle Busch . While Byron was able to maintain 18th position for a few laps, Busch finally took first place with less than 50 to enter the contest.
In the final phase, Keselowski was forced on the track by Larson and was worried about potentially cutting a tire. Unfortunately for team # 2, Keselowski's worries came to fruition and his car sped hard into the wall with less than 40 to go. The damage was irreparable and Keselowski had to bring his car to the garage.
Stewart-Haas Racing had a difficult time with Harvick and Almirola coming into contact with the pit road. Both had to go down for repairs while Bowyer was penalized for speeding. At the restart, there was liquid on the track, forcing NASCAR to issue the warning for cleaning.
Kyle Busch then headed back with Suarez and Elliott behind him. Joey Logano slowed down in Turn 2 with damage, but managed to get his car off the pit lane for repairs without warning.
Just as it seemed that Busch would continue to win the race without being challenged, Bubba Wallace slammed the wall at seven, revealing caution. NASCAR had to display the red flag for the cleaning of the track after Wallace went to infield nursing home.
Again, this is Busch who was starting at the front of the pack, but before he could take the white flag as a leader, Almirola began to spin to bring out a new set-up. keep. That sent the race in overtime NASCAR
Busch would not be denied in overtime however, overcoming a jerky restart to take the checkered flag over his teammate Suarez.
