Florida's mother, who said her two-year-old son was missing Sunday morning, was charged with murder after police found her body beaten in the woods behind a sports complex in Largo.
Police announced the arrest of Charisse Stinson, 21, at a press conference Tuesday evening.
In an affidavit obtained Wednesday morning by PEOPLE, Largo's detectives allege that Stinson confessed to beating his son, Jordan Belliveau.
An AMBER alert was released Sunday for Jordan.
Stinson, who is now charged with first degree murder, told the police that his child had been abducted by a stranger on Saturday night who had offered to return home.
She described the suspect to detectives and a police draftsman. Stinson reportedly told the police that the man identified himself as "Antwan" and hit him with a single punch once in his car.
Addressing the police, Stinson allegedly claimed that she woke up alone the next morning in a wooded area of Largo Central Park.
But at Tuesday's press conference, the investigators said the man she had described to officers and a police draftsman did not exist.
According to the affidavit, Stinson admitted to being frustrated with Jordan on Saturday night when she hit him on the back of his hand. The force of the blow knocked Jordan off and he hit his head against a wall inside Stinson's house.
The affidavit claims that Jordan suffers crises throughout the Saturday evening.

"The state of health of the victim having decreased the next day, the accused transported him to a wooded area during the night when the body of the victim was found," reads the affidavit. "The body found of the victim had visible injuries corresponding to the admission of the accused."
Jordan's remains were found behind the Largo Sports Complex, according to the affidavit.
We do not know if Jordan was still alive when Stinson left him in the woods.
FOX 13 has been talking to Stephon Davis, Jordan's paternal uncle, who said he and his family believed that Stinson was behind everything that had happened to the boy.
"We honestly knew it was her because of her past with us," Davis told FOX 13.
