Brie Larson looks powerful in Captain Marvel First Look

Marvel Studios has just released its first official look on Brie Larson like Carol Danvers in Captain Marvel. The actress makes the cover of Weekly entertainment, modeling his iconic costume. (Some fans were upset after being photographed wearing a black and green look in January.)

Located in the 1990s, Captain Marvel Danvers, an Air Force officer, follows as she becomes one of the most powerful heroes in the universe after the Earth embarked on a galactic war between extraterrestrial races. Larson leads a cast of stars including Annette Bening, Gemma Chan, Colin Ford, Mckenna Grace, Robert Kazinsky, Jude Law, Lashana Lynch, Ben Mendelsohn, Chuku Modu, Algenis Perez Soto, Vik Sahay and Rune Temte. Expect to see some actors from previously published films in the Marvel film universe, including Clark Gregg like Phil Coulson, Djimon Hounsou like Korath, Samuel L. Jackson like Nick Fury and Lee Pace like Ronan the accuser. Larson is "excited" for what Captain Marvel in store. "I'm really proud of what we do," she joked to E! New. "I think all the hype and anticipation will be worth it."

Larson particularly appreciated the challenge of getting in shape – mentally and physically – to fully embody his superhero role. "It's there that you find the character." It's all about: "How much can I rearrange myself to reprogram my brain and reprogram my body to learn something new about me?" Production began in March with locations from California and Louisiana.
