Actor Christopher Lawford, the nephew of President John F. Kennedy, has died, reports TMZ.

The frequent "Extra" correspondent was in a yoga studio on Tuesday night when he had a medical emergency and died later, said a law enforcement official.

Law enforcement officials did not immediately return Fox News's request for comment.

Lawford had a long career as an actor making appearances in "All My Children", "General Hospital", "Terminator 3", "Frasier" as well as in several other television shows.

Closely linked to President Kennedy, Lawford was also an author and active member of the Democratic National Committee, where he worked with his uncle, the late Senator Ted Kennedy.

Her cousin Kerry Kennedy shared her condolences on Twitter.

TMZ indicated that the cause of Lawford's death was due to natural causes.
