A case of mumps has been confirmed at Texas Christian University, according to a note released Wednesday afternoon.
The school was working with the Tarrant County Health Department to identify and contact other students who may have been exposed to the mumps patient, said Jane Torgerson, TCU's director of health services.
No other cases have been reported. Health officials at the school did not specify whether the person with mumps was a student.
"Mumps is unlikely to cause problems on campus because of the high vaccination rate of the TCU community," Torgerson said.
