Thursday 6th September
Nature event: From 8 am to 9:30 pm, State Park of Devil's Lake. Sit by the fireplace and bring a sense of adventure to discover the secrets of the night. Meet in front of Rock Elm's shelter.
Saturday, September 8th
Trail improvement: From 9 am to noon, the Lodi Soul Valley chapter of the Ice Age Trail, South Wayside Park, the Merrimac Ferry, to Merrimac. Supplied tools Wear long sleeves, solid shoes, bring water and gloves. For more information, call 608-843-3926 or send an e-mail to [email protected].
Tyke hiking: 10 hours Ice Age Trail, chapter of the Lodi Valley, starting point of the Rock of Gibraltar, highway V, exit of the J highway, Lodi. During the approximately 1 mile hike for young children, accompanied by an adult, children will use magnifying glasses to look closely at nature. Animal feed: 11:00 am, Devil Lake State Park. Look at the animals in the center of nature lunch. Box turtles nibble on salad, fish snakes and frogs attack crickets. See you in the center of nature. For more information, call 608-356-8301.
Picnic: 11 am to 5 pm, North Freedom Village, South Linn Street, North Freedom. The 125th anniversary with a picnic in the park. There will be music, family games, food and a slideshow of village images through the years. All events our compliment of the village. Monarch marking: 1 pm, Lake Devil's State Park. Monarchs begin to migrate south for the winter and this is the perfect time to capture and tag them. Nets and tags provided. The results will be recorded on monarchwatch.org. Meet at the Steinke Basin car park.
Astronomy event: 8 am to 9 pm, Diable Lake State Park. Join astronomers from the University of Wisconsin-Madison astronomy program for an evening exploration of the universe. Rendez-vous behind the Rock Elm shelter.
Sunday September 9th
Anthem singing: 2-3:30 pm: Wyoming Valley School, 6306 Highway 23, Spring Green. The Gilbert family will serve as musicians and singers. All voices and denominations are welcome.
Tuesday September 11th
Nature event: 11 am to 1 pm, Diable Lake State Park. The exploration station will explore the night sky. Make a star chart and discover the constellations. Meet in front of the nature center. For more information, call 608-356-8301.
Wednesday, September 12
Palliative Care Training: 12h to 16h, Hospice Agrace and Palliative Care, 1670, boul. South, Baraboo. Volunteers are needed to visit and provide companionship to patients in local hospices. For more information, an app or to sign up for guidance, call 608-327-7163.
Community meal: 5h, 19h, 8h, 821 Industry Road, Sauk City. Free event, open to the public. Community meal sponsored by 6:08, which coincides with the distribution of the pantry on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month. Share in communion before, during and after the distribution of the pantry. Sample of food prepared with 6: 8 community garden products when in season.
