ATLANTA – Singer Tyrone Griffin Jr., known as Ty Dolla $ ign, faces charges of drug trafficking after a traffic stop in Atlanta on Wednesday night.
We talk with the police about the case to get updates throughout the day on Channel 2 Action News.
Griffin and six others were arrested in the 810 Martin Luther King Jr. area around 4:55 pm, according to the Atlanta Police Department.
Officers said that the smell of marijuana came from the car, so they searched the vehicle and found marijuana and cocaine.

Channel 2 Action News learned that he was being held in Fulton County Jail without bail.
He is charged with possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana (less than an ounce) and obstruction of a law enforcement officer.
It is scheduled a first hearing at 11:00 Thursday.
The other six people with Griffin were released without charge and the investigation remains active.
The singer was scheduled to perform Wednesday night at the Cellairis Amphitheater in Lakewood.
He has recently collaborated with such artists as Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Kanye West and Drake.
