The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences said on Wednesday it was creating a new category to honor "achievements in popular films."

The Academy of Arts and Film Science had a big change of heart about the Oscar for Popular achievement in the film, which was announced last month to world criticism.

The controversial prize will not be awarded at the Oscars on February 24 as scheduled. Instead, the board of directors of the group will continue to look for the issue of a popular Oscar.

"The Academy has recognized that the implementation of new prices nine months into the year creates challenges for films already released," said a statement from the academy Thursday. He promised "to examine and seek additional information regarding this category".

"The introduction of a new award has elicited many reactions and we recognize the need to continue discussions with our members," said Dawn Hudson, CEO of the Academy.

The 2019 Oscars will continue to be modified, including the restructuring and reduction of the broadcast at three o'clock.

To honor the 24 award categories, six to eight categories will be shown live at the Dolby Theater during commercial breaks. The winning moments will then be edited and broadcast later in the broadcast.

The selected categories will be rotated each year, according to the release. The academy will work with show producers to select categories.
