BASRA, Iraq (Reuters) – Three protesters died in violent clashes in Basra, Iraq, according to local health and safety sources.

Protesters have died in attacks on local government and political party officials, the sources said, bringing the total number of demonstrators who have died since the start of major protests to 10.

Ten members of the security forces were also wounded, the sources said.
