International Consolidated Airlines Group S.A. (IAG.LN) announced on Thursday that its British Airways subsidiary is investigating the theft of personal data from customers who booked flights on its website and smartphone app.

The personal and financial details of customers who booked flights with the airline between 21:58 GMT on 21 August and 20:45 GMT on 5 September were compromised, said IAG.

The stolen data did not include travel or passport details, the company said.

A spokesman for British Airways said Friday that some 380,000 card payments had been compromised.

IAG has stated that the violation has been resolved and that British Airways is communicating with the affected customers and has informed the police and the relevant authorities.
