GENEVA (Reuters) – Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Tehran on Friday for a meeting with his counterparts in Iran and Russia to discuss Syria, the Tasnim news agency reported.

Russia and Iran provided military aid to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in the seven-year conflict, while Turkey supported rebel forces.

Leaders are expected to discuss the imminent military assault on Idlib in northwestern Syria, the country's last major rebel enclave.
