Sofia Richie says she and Scott Disick are "very happy"

Sofia Richie rarely talks about her relationship with Scott Disick in public, but she gives a little update to the fans.

Appearing on the Australian talk show The morning show On Thursday, Richie, 20, briefly touched his 35-year-old boyfriend Disick, revealing that both were "very happy".

"I am very happy," she said.

When asked if she was reluctant to discuss her personal relationships, either with Disick or with her father Lionel Richie, the model said that she had a habit of living her life in the eyes of public.

"I mean, I can not deny the fact that it's my life – by the way, it's my life forever," she said. "It's nothing new to me. So I'm not upset to have to answer these questions, but there are times when I'm like, "I want to be my own person, I want to be my own person".

"I think it's actually what drives me to work and do my job and make my own mark," she continued. "Because I want to be seen as my own person – even though I have all those incredible people in my life that I love so much."

Richie and Scott have been officially released since last September after triggering rumors of love in the spring of 2017.

Although the couple strived to keep their relationship private, it was tackled during the current season of The incredible Kardashian family.

And while tensions will increase this Sunday after Kardashian, 39, discovered that Disick had introduced Richie to their children, sources told PEOPLE that although the relationship initially raised eyebrows, have Kardashian's blessing.

"Sofia is helping Scott to be a better and healthier person," said a source. "Kourtney is convinced that Scott and Sofia take good care of the children. Scott is a great dad when he has his life together.

"It helps Kourtney now trust Sofia," added a second source. "Children are allowed to spend time with her. Sofia likes to have them and helps Scott. Until now, the children have given Kourtney good reports on Sofia.

"Sofia has shown time and time again that she is ready to stay with Scott, even though things are not going very well – but Scott is doing well recently," added the insider.
