The construction of Denver airport mocks rumors of conspiracy

For most people, the Denver International Airport (DIA) is a stopover on the road to a final destination or vacation in Mile High City. But for a few privileged, the airport is totally devoid of obscure conspiracy theories, powered by the Internet.

These rumors believe that everything from extraterrestrials to the Illuminati are home to DIA, and they are so prevalent that the city's newspaper has compiled a guide to the most popular theories. Since 2016, the airport has publicly adopted wacky ideas, featuring a museum-style exhibition on less controversial theories and even hosting events around similar themes. But now, DIA has gone further.

During a $ 650 million refurbishment of the airport's grand lobby, DIA installed temporary walls in Jeppesen Terminal to prevent people from entering construction areas. And instead of a polite sign, "We apologize for our dust", DIA and marketing agency Karsh Hagan have engaged in conspiracy theories.

A sign reads as follows: "Since the opening of the airport in 1995, there have been endless rumors and theories. People say our underground tunnels lead to secret meeting rooms for the world's elite. We think our blue horse is cursed. Some believe that we are connected to the New World Order, Freemasons, and that we welcome lizards.

Another pleasant sign: "What's going on behind this wall? A. A gargoyle breeding ground. B. A secret meeting of Freemasons. C. An improved airport experience. The big graphics include colorful alien images, lizard creatures – and for all cat lovers – a kitten with an aluminum hat.

There is no demystification of theories about signs, instead, they simply direct viewers to "Learn the truth about DENFiles.com," a website that explains the construction project and what travelers can expect .
