(UPDATE) President Rodrigo Duterte's net confidence rating dropped 8 points to +57 in June, according to the results of a survey conducted on Sept. 7 by social weather stations.

MANILA, Philippines (UPDATE) – Public confidence in President Rodrigo Duterte dropped to its lowest level in June, according to a survey conducted by meteorological stations on Friday, 7 September.
The social meteorological survey of the second quarter of 2018, which ran from June 27 to 30, showed that Duterte's net confidence dropped by 8 points to +57 from +65 in March, both ranked "very good".
In the June survey, 70% of Filipinos said they had a lot of confidence in the President, 18% were undecided and 13% said they did not trust him.
The survey was conducted in one-on-one interviews with 1,200 adults nationwide.
This is Duterte's lowest net trust score to date as Managing Director. The second lowest was in September 2017, when he was at +60.
The SWS said the 8-point drop in Duterte's confidence rating was "due to declines in the Visayas and Metro Manila, combined with steady results in Mindanao and Balance Luzon," said SWS.
The biggest drop in net confidence in Duterte was observed in the Visayas, where it dropped by two points, from excellent to good, down 21 points to +49 (68% satisfied, 19% dissatisfied) 10 % dissatisfied) in March.
It rose from a very good to a good in Metro Manila, down 20 points to +42 (61% satisfied, 19% dissatisfied) in March compared to +62 (74% confidence, 12% confidence).
Duterte's confidence rating remained excellent in Mindanao at +88 in June, against +89 in March, and remained very good in Balance Luzon, although it was 3 points lower at +50 to +50.
SWS questioned Filipinos about their confidence in Duterte when he was running for president in December 2015. At the time, his net confidence rating was +16, then +13 in January 2016, but progressed slowly in subsequent polls.
His highest net confidence score was +79 in June, when he assumed the presidency.
The survey was conducted a few days after Duterte called him a stupid God, drawing criticism from leaders of the Catholic Church and evangelical churches.
The SWS ranks its net satisfaction rates as follows:
- +70 and over – excellent
- +50 to +69 – very good
- +30 to +49 – good
- +10 to +29 – moderate
- +9 to -9 – neutral
- -10 to -29 – poor
- -30 to -49 – bad
- -50 to -69 – very bad
- -70 and lower – execrable
The margin of sampling error for national percentages is ± 3% and ± 6% for regional percentages.
