The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will attempt to eliminate the current block in the welterweight division by asking division champion Tyron Woodley to join Darren Till in the upcoming PPV UFC 228 later in the evening (Saturday September 8, 2018) inside the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, Texas.
Acting champion Colby Covington will be stripped of his title early in the fight.
Woodley (18-3-1) did not participate in more than a year after undergoing an operation in the shoulder to repair an injury sustained in his defense against Demian Maia at the same time. UFC 214 in July 2017. As for Till, he was the last seen to have preceded "Wonderboy" at UFC Fight Night 130 earlier this year, bringing his mint record to (17-0-1, 5-0-1 UFC ).
