BASRA, Iraq (Reuters) – Iraqi officials in Basra on Saturday night lifted a curfew that had been in effect for 16 hours. (13:00 GMT), said the army.

The streets of Basra were calm Saturday after days of violent protests shook the oil center in southern Iraq.
