Shortly before attacking Nicki Minaj at a party on Friday night, Cardi B shared a heartfelt message about Mac Miller, who was pronounced dead from an apparent overdose a few hours earlier .

A cause of death remains to be determined, but one source told PEOPLE that Miller had had a cardiac arrest after appearing to be suffering from a drug overdose.
