Doria, Meghan Markle's mother, reportedly made secret visits to the UK to comfort her daughter after her father's ill-gotten access.

Ms. Ragland, who lives in Los Angeles, made the trip after Thomas Markle's repeated criticism that he was "cut off" by his daughter.

The Mail on Sunday understands that once – in July – the social worker stayed with Harry and Meghan in their Oxfordshire cottage, reports Daily Mail.

One source said: "The tour was totally under the radar … Doria supported Meghan for much of the test with Thomas."

Harry and Meghan spent much of the summer in their "shelter" home on the Great Tew estate.

The 74-year-old father of the Duchess of Sussex sensibly revealed how he hung up on Prince Harry during a heated call before the couple's wedding on May 19, causing the duchess to want to "rest" from their relationship.

It was the latest in a series of very public events by Thomas Markle, the latter being the last straw for the Duchess of Sussex.

Sources say that even though Meghan, 37, wants to have a relationship with her father, she feels she needs to separate.

Speaking to the sun, an American source said: "Meghan loves Thomas and wants to have a relationship with him in the long run.

"But by the time she feels that he needs little space, she also wants to take a little time."

Adding that the new Duchess wants to focus on the royal life, she would have admitted that there was no miracle solution to her relationship with her father.
