An American Airlines pilot came to the rescue with pizzas after passengers were stranded due to weather in Texas.

Flight 2354 from American Airlines, from Los Angeles to Dallas-Fort Worth, was diverted to Wichita Falls on Thursday after thunderstorms hit the area, leaving 159 people stranded until the next day.

It was then that the captain of the plane decided to order 40 boxes of Papa Johns and deliver it himself to the passengers.

A Twitter video of the moment of reflection shows the captain of the plane, Jeff Raines, handing out the boxes to passengers lined up on the sidewalk of the airport.

"I do not think I've seen that before," said Josh Raines, an employee who shot the video, next to his tweet.

Spectators can be heard by saying, "What a guy!"

While the captain thanked the people for their compliments, he made sure that the gesture was a team effort.

"My first officer was on the phone with the crew / hotel office to arrange our outing and the hotels for the entire crew. The flight attendants flew a buggy from the aircraft serving water, juice and soda to all passengers at the terminal, "Raines wrote on his Facebook page. "While Envoy SPS staff were preparing a bus, re-booking the flights and answering a host of questions from these passengers. Thank you all for your help – there is no "I" in TEAM.

The scheduled flight took off the next day, said American Airlines.

"We are always proud of our crew members who take great care of our customers who travel on American Airlines and are lucky to be the best in the industry," said Tom's airline spokesman. Henderson.
