BERLIN – A cruise line indicates that German pop singer Daniel Kueblboeck has disappeared at sea after leaving one of his ships off the coast of Canada.

Aida Cruises told the Associated Press in an email that Kueblboeck had left the cruise ship AIDAluna on Sunday morning.

Aida said the ship was stopped and returned to the place off Newfoundland where the 33-year-old man reportedly entered the water.

Kueblboeck had a short-lived success in 2003 as a participant in the national talent show "Germany Seeks the Superstar".

The company states that "intensive research" is underway in collaboration with the Canadian Coast Guard.
