Millions of people in the northern hemisphere will be destroyed by strong winds, rain and floods caused by typhoons and hurricanes later this week.
This afternoon, typhoon Mangkhut hit the coast of Guam, generating gusts of 215 km / h.
It is expected that its size and strength will increase as it crosses the Mariana Islands tonight and will produce heavy rains, floods and very destructive winds.
Typhoon Mangkhut is expected to move further west, to strengthen in the Philippines and Taiwan by the end of the week.
According to the Typhoon Warning Center, gusts of wind could reach nearly 300 km / h near the heart of the typhoon when they hit the region Saturday.
Three more typhoons are currently strengthening over the Atlantic Ocean.
The strongest of the three systems, Hurricane Florence, is currently ranked in the top category.
It is expected to intensify in a tropical cyclone category four or five in the next 24 hours and is expected to reach the US east coast by Thursday.
"Make your plans now," Governor of South Carolina Henry McMaster said yesterday.
"Assume that a major hurricane will hit right in the middle of South Carolina."
He also said he asked US President Trump to declare a state of emergency in South Carolina in anticipation of the storm.
The US National Hurricane Center is also following Hurricane Isaac and Hurricane Helene as it approaches the Atlantic Ocean.
Hurricane Isaac is expected to reach the Caribbean in the coming days and already has winds of up to 120 km / h.
Hurricane Helene represents a minor threat to the land, but it generates winds of more than 140 km / h near West Africa.
