OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) – Once Jared Goff and the Los Angeles Rams offensive started after missing the entire preseason, they could not be stopped.

Goff threw two touchdown passes, newcomer Marcus Peters intercepted 50 yards for a touchdown and the Rams used a second dominant period to spoil the highly anticipated return of coach Jon Gruden by beating the Raiders 33-13. Monday evening.

"There was a bit of a feeling, to see what they were going to do, to see what their plan was," Goff said. "I thought our defense had done a great job of answering our attack, I still do not think we played our standards in the first half, think about the second half, we went out and we got it. ;Have done."

Goff and the rest of the attacking starters for the Rams (1-0) did not play at all during the pre-season and many of the best defensive players also had little time on the field during the exhibition matches.

This could have contributed to the precarious beginning. The Raiders (0-1) moved the ball relatively easily and the Rams struggled to finish the practice. But Los Angeles overturned the scenario in the second half, ahead of Oakland 23-0 and showing why this team is considered one of the NFC's favorites after the decisive season of last year that ended with a title of division.

"I think that to be able to get through adversity a bit and have to get back into the semifinals, this has been a good test for your determination as a football team," said L & R. Coach Sean McVay. "It was certainly a good job on the part of these guys and I thought the offense had responded."

Gruden played his first game as a Raiders coach (0-1) since the end of the 2001 season. He was traded to Tampa Bay after this season and defeated the Raiders at the Super Bowl the following year. He has announced for ESPN for the last nine seasons before Oakland owner Mark Davis finally attracted him to the delight of Raiders fans.

But at the end of the night, there were only jokes after Peters slipped the match with his return landing on Derek Carr's third interception.

"It was a two-part story," Gruden said. "It is obvious that we did not support the ball and that it was a critical element of this football match."

Peters punctuated this with a celebratory dive in the terminal area reminiscent of his close friend Marshawn Lynch.

"I did Beast mode," Peters said. "That's what I did."

Gruden's second stint started well with the Raiders, who scored the first goal and led 75 yards for a 10-yard Lynch touchdown. The Rams ensured Lynch was in third place, but he made his way into the end zone with the help of his offensive linemen.

Oakland only managed six points against a defense fortified by the off-season additions of former All-Pros Peters, Aqib Talib and Ndamukong Suh.

Carr threw John Johnson into the end zone in the second quarter and another in the fourth when he tried to pull out a pass at the last minute before letting the balloon fly for linebacker Cory Littleton.

"It was one of the most stupid pieces you could have," Carr said. "I knew what I should have done as soon as this game was over."

The Rams tied the first score when Todd Gurley flipped to Goff and ran 19 yards into the end zone. They took control in the second half.

Los Angeles equalized to 13 points on a field goal by Greg Zuerlein at the opening of the third quarter then took the lead on a 58-yard drive that had two assists below goal level, Brandin Cooks. then the 8-yard TD at Cooper Kupp.

MACKING MACK

The Raiders barely touched Goff all night a little over a week after trading player Khalil Mack in Chicago for a package including two first-round picks. Bruce Irvin had the only bag when Goff held the ball too long and there were few other pressures.

Difficult start

The defeat of Gruden dropped the new coaches of the league to 0-7 in week 1.

FLAG DAY

The Raiders again experienced penalty problems, hitting 10 goals for 145 yards in the first half, thanks to two long-term interferences against Rashaan Melvin (37 yards) and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (50). There are more penalty yards than in any match in Gruden's first four-year stint and most in the first period for at least 2000 years. The Raiders were penalized 10 yards in the second half.

INJURY

Raiders long snapper, Andrew DePaola, was injured in the knee in the first quarter and did not return. TE Lee Smith completed and provided accurate snapshots of two field goals. He had a slap on a kick but Johnny Townsend jumped and knocked him off without problems. It was far from the opening of the 2012 season when Jon Condo was injured for Oakland and Travis Goethel came in and missed three shots in a loss to the Chargers.

"It was stressful, I can not even lie to you," Smith said. "I'm just glad they've all come back there."

Rams' player Pharoh Cooper injured his ankle in the second half.

ANTHEM

Lynch was again sitting during the national anthem. Lynch also sits for the anthem all last season but has never given any reason for his decision.
