(WRIC) – In anticipation of Hurricane Florence, several school districts have begun to announce the closure of schools Friday.
Public schools in Hanover County and Henrico County canceled classes on Friday.
Schools in Hanover County tweeted the announcement on Tuesday: "Due to Hurricane Florence, weather conditions are expected to affect Hanover County later this week." Strong winds, floods, power outages and trees slaughtered are likely, Friday 14 September. "
The Richmond Public Schools will also be closed Friday in anticipation of Hurricane Florence, according to a tweet from Jason Kamras, District Superintendent.
