Trump thinks being sacked will help him win in 2020

President Donald Trump would have realized the possibility of being charged but thinks he can play a role in a big reelection in 2020.

If he's indicted but not removed from office, Trump will try to play the victim's card and paint the Democrats as having unfairly attacked him for charges of collusion and obstruction of the justice, the Axios website reported on Wednesday.

"He repeated to people that if the Democrats put him on trial, it would be a political victory, because it would be a total overtaking and he could exploit it in 2020," said a source close to Trump. The midterms of November told Axios.

The speculation revolves around whether Democrats will seek to attack Trump if they find majorities in Congress midway through. While the Senate card favors Republicans, given the large number of seats that Democrats must defend, the GOP should largely lose control of the House.

Trump had already asked if the mid-term elections in 2018 even mattered.

"Your vote in 2018 is just as important as your vote in 2016," said Trump during a speech in May.

"Although I'm not sure I believe it," he joked, adding, "I do not know who wrote that sentence."

But Trump's thoughts on the mid-terms seem to have changed and he and his allies have taken advantage of the threat of destitution to try to galvanize GOP voters.

Trump told a Montana crowd this month that he was indicted, "it's your fault because you did not go out to vote".
