HONOLULU – Last on tropical storm Olivia and its impact on Hawaii (all local times):

Heavy rains have been reported in Maui and the northern part of the Big Island as tropical storm Olivia crosses Hawaii.
Storm warnings were in place Wednesday for the islands of Maui and Oahu, but were canceled for Big Island and Kauai.
According to Melissa Dye, Meteorologist at the National Weather Service in Honolulu, the small islands around Maui are also affected. A flash flood warning was issued for Molokai (MOL-o-kye), and a 51-mph (82 km / h) gust of wind was reported overnight at Lanai Airport.
She says sustained winds of 20 to 30 mph (32 to 48 km / h) have been reported in many parts of Maui County.
The winds are expected to remain for most of Wednesday, and Dye says it will rain on Maui for several days.
The storm is also expected to hit the most populated island, Oahu.
Dye says that showers moved on the island Wednesday morning.

Maui is plagued by heavy rains and strong winds as tropical storm barrels gradually weaken towards Hawaii.
Forecasters have said tropical storm Olivia can dump 12 to 25 centimeters of rain on the islands, with some up to 15 inches.
Maui Mayor Alan Arakawa is urging residents to stockpile drinking water and warned they should anticipate power outages, landslides, high waves, fallen trees and flooded roads.
Honolulu hopes the worst will be spared.
Mayor of Honolulu, Kirk Caldwell, said the city offices would be open as usual. Urban buses will operate normally as long as the winds are not too strong.
Olivia was a hurricane earlier this week, but slowly lost power as she gets closer to Hawaii.
