The nominations for the 2018 American Music Awards have been announced, with Drake and Cardi B each earning an eighth.
Ed Sheeran and Post Malone are tied for second place with six nominations each, followed by Camila Cabello with five nominations and Bruno Mars, Khalid and Taylor Swift with four nominations each.
Drake, Sheeran, Post Malone and Swift will face Imagine Dragons in the Artist of the Year category, while Swift, Sheeran and Mars won Tour of the Year nominations alongside Beyonce and Jay-Z and U2.
Cabello, Cardi B and Drake are all ready for the video of the year. The late rapper XXXTENTACION has won two posthumous awards for the new artist of the year and his favorite album – soul / R & B.
Cabello, Cardi B, Khalid and Dua Lipa are also among the nominees. Cardi B also marked a collaboration of the appointment of the year for his team with Bruno Mars on "Finesse". In this category, the duo will face Cabello with Young Thug ("Havana"), Post Malone with 21 Savage ("Rockstar"), Bebe Rexha and Florida Georgia Line ("Meant to Be") and Zedd, Maren Morris and Gray. ("The middle").
The favorite nominees for social artists are BTS, Cardi B, Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato and Shawn Mendes.
The 2018 AMA, hosted by Tracee Ellis Ross for the second year in a row, will be broadcast live on ABC from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Tuesday, October 9 at 8pm.
