Jeff Fager, an executive producer of CBS's long-running news show 60 minutes, leaving the company, just days after the resignation of CBS chief executive, The Moonves, as a result of allegations of sexual harassment brought against him by a dozen women.

The start was announced Wednesday by several media, including CBS News.

According to an internal memo sent to employees by CBS News President David Rhodes, obtained by Reuters, Fager will leave the team immediately.

The company said the action was unrelated to allegations – published in the Washington Post and New Yorker – that Fager would have tolerated the harassment at 60 minutes and touched some women in a way that made them uncomfortable. He has already denied any wrongdoing, according to reports.

According to Reuters, these allegations are the subject of an independent investigation.

The fall of film mogul Harvey Weinstein focused on sexual misconduct in the workplace, particularly in the media industry. Charlie Rose, a former US broadcast journalist, was arrested by CBS News and PBS after several women working on his news program said he had harassed them.
